What is collagen?

Collagen is the body’s most bountiful protein, made from the amino acids proline, glycine and hydroxyproline. In fact, it makes up 30% of the body’s protein, providing support to your skin, muscles, bones and connective tissue. Put simply? Collagen is like your body’s building blocks, providing structure and strength to the way you move, heal and look.

What are the different types of collagen?

Different in their own way, there are around 28 types of collagen, with five main types. These include:

Type I - Making up 90% of your body’s collagen, it provides structure to your skin, bones, tendons and ligaments.

Type II - This type is found in elastic cartilage, which is perfect for those who need extra support in their joints.

Type III - You’ll find this type in your muscles, arteries and organs.

Type IV - Often found in the layers of your skin.

Type V - This type is found in the cornea of your eyes, some layers of skin, hair and tissue of the placenta.

What does collagen do?

Collagen is the protein your body relies on to keep skin firm, hair strong, and joints supported. Over time, natural collagen levels begin to dip, but that’s where Serenova steps in. Our blend of hydrolysed collagen peptides and vitamin C works from within, helping to maintain the structure and resilience that supports you through every phase of life. Vitamin C plays a key role in helping your body form collagen. By helping collagen to do its job effectively, it supports you to feel vibrant, strong, and ready for whatever life brings.

How does collagen work?

Fast, superior absorption was at the top of our list when developing this formula, and that’s why we’ve used hydrolysed bovine collagen. During the hydrolysis process, collagen is broken down into smaller, more absorbable units. This makes it easier for your body to quickly absorb the collagen.

Vitamin c is collagen's best friend.

Not only is vitamin C great for your immune system, it also works with your body to support normal collagen development. That’s why we’ve added it to our collagen blend. Two powerful, clean ingredients, delivering results you’ll see and feel.

What are the benefits of taking collagen?

As we said earlier, your body’s natural collagen gently shifts over time, requiring more care and attention so you can age with confidence. Our blend of collagen and vitamin C supports this new stage in your life, nourishing your hair, skin and joints.

Skin
Our largest organ, collagen supports the dermis from within, strengthening your skin’s structure and firmness, so you’re able to glow from the inside out.

Hair & nails
Collagen contains the essential amino acids needed to build keratin, a key structural protein that is needed to strengthen your hair and nails. You may notice less breakage when it comes to your hair (and nails), a result of thicker, stronger tresses.

Joints
Collagen provides the building blocks for cartilage and tendons. This cushions your joints and bones, helping you to move with ease throughout each stage of womanhood.
